The China Flower Expo is a comprehensive flower fair of the highest organizational level in China. It is supported by relevant national departments and sponsored by the State Forestry Administration, the China Flower Association and the local people's government of the host province, autonomous region, and direct-controlled municipality of China (“province, region and municipality of China” for short); at the same time, it is organized by the local flower association of the host province, region and municipality of China, and the local people’s government of the host city and co-organized by the flower associations of other provinces, region and municipality of China. The first China Flower Expo was held in April, 1987 at National Agriculture Exhibition Centre.Since then,eight editions of the China Flower Expo have been successfully held. The expo is held in a cityfor 20 to 90 days every four years since the 3rd edition.
The expoaims to expand the coverage of development policiesin the floriculture industry;show achievementsinthe floriculture and horticulture field; andexchange new ideas, new species, new technologies, new products and new studies. Moreover, the expo dedicates to becoming an important venue for watching the development trend. It helps accelerate the progress of modern floriculture and promoting ecological civilization so as to build a better China.
The expo activities mainly include indoor exhibitions, outdoor garden exhibitions and other relative activities.
The indoor exhibitionsare divided into:Provincial (Regional, Municipal) Area, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Area and Specialty Area; the outdoor garden exhibitions focus on ornamental plants displays; relative activities include the opening ceremony, industry forums, floriculture shows, technical seminars, information communications, cultural performances, trade negotiations, the closing ceremony and so on.
